Where Will You Be When The Rapture Happens?
Where will you be when the Rapture happens?
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Living Bible
13 And now, dear brothers, I want you to know what happens to a Christian when they die so that when it happens, you will not be full of sorrow, like those who have no hope.
14 For since we believe that Jesus died and then came back to life again, we can also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with Him all the Christians who have died.
15 I can tell you this directly from the Lord: we who are still alive when the Lord returns will not rise to meet Him ahead of those who are in their graves.
16 For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a mighty shout and the soul-stirring cry of the archangel, and the great trumpet call of God. The believers who have died will be the first to rise from their graves to meet the Lord.
17 Then we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and be with Him forever.
18 So comfort and encourage one another with this news.
Hold on tonight, I pray for Holy Ghost conviction to touch every person in this house. I pray for people who are in spiritual comas to wake up. I pray for prodigals to come home to Jesus.
Some of you have waited all of your lives and it seems like it’s never going to happen – but “don’t lose heart” – the Rapture of the Church is upon us. Jesus is coming to get us. He has not forgotten about us, nor will He ever.
Jesus is the one coming to get us. He’s not taking those who have rejected Him, but those who have accepted Him as their Savior. Some ask, “What’s so great about going to heaven?”
You get to escape the hell that’s going on the earth after the Rapture happens.
What is your ordinary life?
Is it a life of living for Jesus and obeying His word? Are you developing a relationship with Jesus? Those who accept Him live for Him, love the Lord, and want to obey Him. Those who love Jesus will make heaven their home while hell breaks out on the earth.
Those who love Jesus hate the old life they lived. Those who love Jesus want to obey God’s word. Do you love Him? Those who love Jesus want to be with His people. Those who love Jesus take comfort in the rapture because they will escape what is about to happen. Hold on to Jesus, my friend, it will be worth everything.
What is your ordinary life? Is it a rejection of Jesus? When you won’t repent of sin in your life, you are rejecting Jesus. When you would rather party and drink and live for all the pleasure you can have, you are rejecting Jesus. When you have no desire for prayer, no time for the Bible, and no time for the house of God, you are rejecting Jesus. Your ordinary life may be what keeps you from being taken in the rapture.
The reason heaven was created is for those who did not reject Jesus. Satan and the angels who rejected God’s plan will all be cast into a lake of fire that burns forever and ever (Rev. 20:10).
While everyone is living their normal life, the rapture will happen. When will the rapture happen? Matthew 24:36 says, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
Matthew 24:37-42 tells us to watch because we do not know when the Lord will come.
Have you received Jesus as your Savior or have you rejected Him?
When the rapture takes place, children who are not at the age of accountability will be taken, imagine not going home with your son or daughter. Teenagers, imagine having to drive your car home from church because you rejected Jesus. Mothers and fathers will be taken, grandparents will be taken, children will be taken. Why? Because Jesus doesn’t want you to face what Satan will do during the seven years of tribulation.
The Arrival of the Son of Man isn’t something you go to see. He comes like lightning! Two scriptures to end with: you may think you will get saved during the tribulation period, and there will be many saved, but they will die, most beheaded and many tortured to death because they received Jesus and refused the mark of the beast (Matthew 24:9-10 Amp).
Matthew 24: 9-10 (AMP)
9 “Then they will hand you over to [endure] tribulation, and will put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.
10 At that time, many will be offended and repelled [by their association with Me] and will fall away [from the One whom they should trust] and will betray one another [handing over believers to their persecutors] and will hate one another.
Luke 21: 10-16 Things to Come
10 Then Jesus told them, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.
11 There will be violent earthquakes, and in various places famines and [deadly and devastating] pestilences (plagues, epidemics); and there will be terrible sights and great signs from heaven.
12 “But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, turning you over to the synagogues and prisons, and bringing you before kings and governors for My name’s sake.
13 This will be a time and an opportunity for you to testify [about Me].
14 So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves;
15 for I will give you [skillful] words and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute.
16 But you will be betrayed and handed over even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.
In both settings of the word of God, it’s all about what you have rejected and what you have received.
Will you accept Jesus as your savior and turn from your sin,
or will you reject Jesus and receive the mark of the beast?
All who reject Jesus will go to the lake of fire (Rev 20:15).
The only sin that Jesus can’t forgive you of is rejecting him.
Where will you be when the rapture happens?
