The War of the Mind

Our Minds

You are not perfect
You will make mistakes
You will face hard times
You will fall
When you do fall, it’s going to be so hard to get back up
The enemy will send the forces of life against you and try and lead you every way that you can imagine
The desires of your heart will just get worse and worse
You’ll feel pain
The friends that you thought that you would always have won’t be there anymore
You’re going to pay a heavy price
There are times when you don’t want to wake up in the morning
There will be times when depression and anxiety take over your life so hard you just feel like there’s no Escape
You will hit a point in your life where you sin against God so much that you feel like there’s no way out
There’s no helping you
You’re unreachable
The circumstances that you’ve been given you just feel like you can’t do it anymore
Give up
That’s what our mind tells us; that is what our flesh tells us… that there is no escape

But Jesus

But Jesus said “I am the door, and no man goes to the Father but through me”
You see our mind may tell us one thing
But God doesn’t say stand on your mind
God said, stand on my word
His word is like a two-edged sword (in Ephesians)
It helps fight our battles
His word is a lamp upon our feet and a light upon our path in psalms

John 1:1-5

¹ “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ²He was in the beginning with God. ³All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. ⁴In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [a]comprehend it.”

This Scripture is talking about Jesus
Jesus is the Word
He is the lamp
The light
Our guide
And in him is the only place that you will find life
Jesus died on the cross
He won the war against death and Hell and The Grave
He died went to hell took the keys and rose from the dead and now is seated on the throne by the father
Its kind of funny how we give the devil so much power over us when he doesn’t even have the keys to his own place
Jesus gives us this opportunity to have an expected end
He offers us this peace that passeth all understanding
He gives us this strength that through the hard times we still have faith in God there’s no one better than my Jesus

What He Gave Us

Often times I think to myself Jesus died for me
2,000 years ago, on a cross for the sin of the world
He died with our lives right now in his mind
All the things we would do from the worst to the best he died for
So that we may have the free gift of salvation
There is no greater gift to give nothing I could ever do that ever could amount to what my Jesus did for me
When that blood that dripped off his body dripped onto my sin and washed me white
But yet I still take advantage of that free precious gift ● I still sin
I still disobey my parents
I still try to hide behind this mask
I listen to my thoughts everyday

You make so many decisions everyday. The internet says that we make 35,000 choices per day. You’re constantly thinking. Your mind is constantly going.

Every 2 seconds you make a decision for 2000 decisions per hour.

Sure, some are positive, but some are negative.

We have to decide whether we will let our…

- Insecurities
- Uncertainty
- Sin
- Obstacle
- Temptations and success

…lead and guide us

Church, I may not be perfect, but I refuse to let the vices of the enemy rule over my life.

From this day forward Lord, I make the decision to let you, my God, lead my life with your:

-Anointing

– Strength

– Presence

– Love

– Joy

– Peace

– Kindness

– Goodness

– Faithfulness

– Gentleness

And self-control

Lead me!

From this day forward God, I want to let the holy spirit lead and guide me.

I want to gain that personal relationship with you.

I want you to lead and guide me just like you did with the Israelites as a cloud by day and a fire by night.

I don’t want what you say through me to uplift me but to give you the glory

Church, you’re constantly getting fed things through your eyes

I was:

Your ears
Your nose
Your words

– And your physical feelings and emotions

Every single day one of the biggest battles that you will fight are in your mind
There is no doubt sometimes we think to ourselves: How could we think that? How could we do that? Why in the world did I do this when I know I shouldn’t?
It’s like what Paul said in (Romans 7 I believe)
What I want to do I don’t do but what I don’t want to do I do but then a little bit after that he says I know that it’s the flesh
As Christians we need to learn to fall in love with Jesus
We need to learn to depend on God
We need to learn how to fall in love with the anointing and to fall in love with Jesus’s presence
And the Holy Spirit’s presence around us
He follows you and he’s with you everywhere you go
Like what brother Max was saying : when he’s on the top of the mountain he knows that God is with him
And whenever he started to feel like he was going in the valley he knew even though he couldn’t feel it and I’m sure his mind was telling him God’s not with me\
Here God is with him cuz he loves him so much that He sent Jesus as a perfect sacrifice

A Living Sacrifice

I never got to finish what I was saying earlier but
The only way that I can even come close to the amount to what Jesus did for me
Is by being a Living Sacrifice
Because if I let Jesus in my heart, he’s living inside of me
And if I preach the gospel
If I lead a worship song
If I witness to my best friend that is me letting Jesus out
The best way for me to be a Living Sacrifice is to take up my cross, die daily and let Jesus live through me

John 7:38 says:

“He who believes in me as the scripture has said out of his heart out of his belly out of his being shall flow Rivers of Living Water”

The Woman at the Well

It makes me think of the woman at the well it was a coincidence that Jesus met that woman
Jesus was simply thirsty
The woman was not supposed to be there
She was going to that well at the worst time, the heat of the day with no one around her
It was hot, and dangerous
But she got to that well because of a divine appointment by God
Jesus said if you drink from the living water that I give you, you will never thirst again
Only Jesus can fulfill you
Only Jesus can show you that peace
Only Jesus can look past your sin
I heard this week in a message, but I didn’t listen to the whole message… just a clip
But this girl said that Jesus doesn’t see your sin
Jesus doesn’t see your flesh or temptations the way you do
Because he forgave those things
He doesn’t see things the way we see things
He sees in you not your imperfections but what he made you to be your destiny you’re calling
This woman was an outcast, a failure, but Jesus didn’t see that. He saw someone who needed a drink from the well
That day that women met her savior and served him
A woman that should have made it left everything and told her town her city about Jesus
We all face things

War of the Mind:

If you’ll stand:

Yes, maybe the biggest wars we face are in our mind but when you surrender your heart to Jesus your mind will begin to renew
You don’t have to be perfect to find Jesus
Just like you don’t have to be clean to get in the shower
Don’t just get saved and thank God for a free ticket out of hell ● Gain a intimate relationship with our God
Once you do over time you will realize that only God can fulfill you and nothing else
You will fall in love with his presence and Spirit and anointing you wont even look at sin but as a testament of What your God can do for you
I have a question; can I pray for you?
Do you know Jesus as your savior?
Do you have sickness in your life?
Do you have a broken heart?
Do you have circumstances in your way?
My Jesus loves you
He will find you right where you are and pick you up off your feet
Will you let me pray for you? Maybe you just need strength in your body
