The River of Life

The Perfect Life

Revelations Amplified

22:1 Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Christ),

2 in the middle of its street.

Some people cannot get enough of the river of life. This river of life flows to God’s children from God.

There is no death that comes from this river. In heaven, one day, Jesus asked one of the angels, “Can you get John for me?” And that angel spoke and said,

“You know he’s down by the river.”

Some people live closer to the heart of God!

Do y’all know John the Baptist’s favorite Psalm?

Psalm 46:4-5 CSB

4 There is a river whose streams delight the city of God, the holy dwelling place of the Most High.

5 God is within her; she will not be toppled. God will help her when the morning dawns.”

Do y’all know one of John the Baptist’s favorite Old Testament writers was? It was Ezekiel’s Gospel, in Ezekiel 47.

The temple of God has water coming out of its doors, liquid life flowing from God. If your ankle-deep, there are miracles; if your knee-deep, there are miracles; if your hip-deep, it’s miraculous, and when it’s over your head, the impossible becomes possible.

When Jesus found John or the river found John and brought Jesus to them, I don’t know, but one thing is for sure: the river brought Jesus and John together.

Do y’all know why John wasn’t baptizing in the temple in Jerusalem? After all, his father was a priest.

They didn’t have a river!!!

John could never get enough of the river of God.

In John chapter 1, AMP,

24 Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.

25 They asked him, “Why then are you baptizing, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

26 John answered them, “I baptize only in water, but among you, there stands One whom you do not recognize and of whom you know nothing.

27 It is He the preeminent One who comes after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie even as His slave.

28 These things occurred in Bethany across the Jordan at the Jordan River crossing, where John was baptizing.

I believe with all my heart that John’s ministry couldn’t be contained in a temple for God was doing a new thing. The presence was not in a temple made with hands but rather moving into the hearts of God’s children.

The river isn’t for a building but rather for a people. John baptized not just Jews but also Gentiles. When John’s dad came to see his son, John, “Mike’s Gospel,” Zacharias said, “Son, these are Gentiles.” John said, “Father, they are repenting of their sins.” John said, “Dad, there’s something in the water.”

I don’t care how you get to the river, but I do tell you what: you cannot leave with what you came with. I will not baptize you into a building, but like John, I bring you to Jesus.

And tonight, miracles are going to happen.

I cannot make you a Christian. Only Jesus can do that. Jesus wants to heal your soul, your body. He wants to heal you.

Confess your sin to Jesus. Ask him to forgive you, and he will.

Get yourself a Bible and read until you find that river I have been speaking of.

Tonight, some of y’all are going down dry, but you’re coming up alive. It’s a river of life.

Tonight, some of y’all are going down, but you’re coming up speaking in other tongues. You’re coming alive. It’s a river of life.

Can we put no holds on what Jesus wants to do? Can we just believe in the wonder-working power of the blood of Jesus?

The river is bringing you to Jesus.

The Holy Ghost is in this tonight, and God is going to bless mightily.

Jesus is going to pour his love on you, and I want you to pour your love on him.
