“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens… Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace…”
Jesus passed through the heavens so we could enter His presence without fear.
The very One who sympathizes with our weakness invites us into the place only the High Priest once entered.
The veils of the tabernacle were not decorations.
The Hebrew word for veil means “to separate.”
Each veil was a barrier between sinful man and the holy God.
Seven feet tall, thirty feet wide—
Separating the people from the outer court.
No one could come through unless they brought a sacrifice.
Only priests could enter.
Only after washing and sacrifice.
The barrier between man and God Himself.
Only the high priest, only once a year, only with blood.
Woven into this veil were cherubim heaven’s guardians declaring:
This veil was:70 feet wide, 30 feet tall, 4 inches thick
No human hands could tear it.
God Himself reached down and ripped the barrier apart.
Before that moment, no one had direct access to God.
But at Jesus’ final breath, heaven opened its doors forever.
Hundreds of people in the Temple courts witnessed it.
The high priest preparing the evening sacrifice would have stood there stunned everything they had always believed was suddenly fulfilled.
JOHN 3:12–13 — JESUS SPEAKS OF HEAVENLY REALITIES
“No man has ascended into heaven… but He who came down from heaven, the Son of Man which IS in heaven.”
Jesus is telling Nicodemus:
Heaven wasn’t a destination for Him.
Heaven was His realm.
And when He speaks…
your spirit knows this is true.
( 2 Corinthians 3:12–16) Moses covered his face because Israel wasn’t ready to see glory.
Paul says a veil still lies over the human heart until Christ removes it.
When you belong to Jesus, the veil of separation is gone.
When you die, your physical body, your last veil drops away
and your spirit goes where you chose in life:
Heaven for those who follow Him.
Hell for those who reject Him.
God never sends anyone to hell
He honors the choice they made on earth.
In 2020, I came closer to eternity than I ever imagined.
The veil—normally thick and hidden became thin, like a transparent curtain.
I stood at the edge of heaven.
I felt it.
I smelled it.
I sensed Jesus in a way my natural body could not understand.
Two months ago in prayer, I smelled honeysuckle with no source on earth.
It was the fragrance of another realm. Church my spirit was brushing against the border of eternity again.
Paul said: (1 Corinthians 15:50) “Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.”
Your body cannot cross into certain realms…
but your spirit, birthed from heaven, recognizes what your eyes have never seen.
This is why:
People cry in His presence
People feel homesick for a place they’ve never visited
People smell fragrances others cannot detect
People sense God before they see Him
Your spirit remembers home.
So when I say
I am not saying my body crossed dimensions.
I am saying exactly what Scripture teaches:
There are realms in God your spirit can access while your body kneels on the earth.
Because every time you pray…
You get too close to heaven for his comfort.
He doesn’t mind you starting a prayer
He fears you praying through.
He fights you going to church…
because heaven touches earth there.
He fights your Bible reading…
because the Word came from heaven
and carries heaven’s power.
Every spiritual attack is a barrier attempt
but the veil has already been torn.
Jesus came down to remove every barrier,
to tear every veil, to open heaven to you.
He died for your sins.
He removed the veil forever.
He made the throne of grace open to you.
