“Take Me”
Exodus 24:12-18 (NKJV)
12 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you tablets of stone, and the law and commandments which I have written, that you may teach them.”
13 So Moses arose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up to the mountain of God. 14 And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we come back to you. Indeed, Aaron and Hur are with you. If any man has a difficulty, let him go to them.” 15 Then Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain.
16 Now the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. 17 The sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. 18 So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
Joshua was Moses’ minister or servant, and it would be a satisfaction to him to have him as a companion during the six days that he tarried in the mount before God called to him. Joshua was to be his successor, and therefore thus he was honored before the people, and thus he was prepared by being trained up in communion with God. I See Moses as he eyes Joshua, “Joshua will you go with me? I want you to go to the mountain with me.”
Joshua was a type of Christ, and (as the learned Bishop Pearson well observes), Moses takes him with him unto the mount, because without Jesus, in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, there is no looking into the secrets of heaven, nor approaching the presence of God.
Moses was asking Joshua to God, but Joshua had the heart, “please take me”.
When we go into the presence of God are you like Joshua? Take me!
When Moses was with God where did Joshua go? No, he didn’t go back to the people. Joshua didn’t go with Moses but stayed a little lower on the mountain.
Deuteronomy 9:21 tells us that there was a brook that flowed from the mountain. Joshua’s manna never failed, and he drank from the brook before anyone else had a chance to drink from this brook.
What did Jesus say? (John 6:51 NKJV):
“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
Jesus told the woman at the well in (John 4:14 NKJV):
but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
Manna for his meat, and for his drink water out of the brook that descended out of the mount. This came from God; it’s two choices here: receive what comes from God or live by what comes up from the ground.
Why is it so hard to break the bad habits of drinking from the wells of the world? It always leaves you thirsty for the unattainable.
I’m not looking for someone who drinks from the wells of this world, rather one who drinks from the river flowing from the throne room.
Someone, scream “Take Me!”
The Inner Circle isn’t just a clique but rather ministers or servants of the Lord.
Matthew 16:24-28 (NKJV)
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. 28 Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”
Scream “Take Me!”
I can’t imagine eating from the world and drinking from the wells dug by man’s hand.
Matthew 17:1-8 (NKJV)
Jesus Transfigured on the Mount
17 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; 2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. 4 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, [a]let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. 7 But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” 8 When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
In 2020 Jesus almost took me! His glory is everything to me!
Isaiah 6:1-5 (NKJV)
Isaiah Called to Be a Prophet
6 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”
4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 So I said:
“Woe is me, for I am [a]undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The Lord of hosts.”
Someone, scream “Take me!”
John 11:40
“Then Jesus said, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?’”
Tell me you’re ready to make a change. Say it with me, “I’m not drinking from that well anymore, I’m not eating from the table of the world.”
People may be worldly, but they are not the world. The world is the system of the world. Those 120 that stayed in the upper room weren’t drinking form the world’s cup or eating the world’s bread, rather they ate the manna that came from God and drank from the river of life.
Someone, scream “Take me!”
The greatest vision dream or revelation you can have is about Jesus! John had seen Jesus. These are his words:
Revelation 1: 9-18 (NKJV)
Vision of the Son of Man
9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, 11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”
12 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of [e]Hades and of Death.
