Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
When we are born again an amazing thing happens, we have been born of the Spirit. The Spirit of God has taken up residence in our body; the soul is saved. Our attitude towards God has been changed, no longer will we intentionally want to walk in rebellion against God. For in times past it was our nature. But when you are born again, the nature of who you were (that’s before “Christ”) has changed. We have taken on the nature of “Christ”. Do you look like Jesus? Are you being changed by the indwelling Holy Spirit. This is the subject of this message.
The old you were on your way to hell, to be eternally separated from God. Why? Because you were a sinner, because you have not received Jesus as your savior, the work Jesus did on the cross by giving his life for us. He was not a sinner, he never sinned not even once, not even close. We were born in sin, having sinned from the day we were born. We were born with the curse of sin upon us, we were born unsaved.
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
The new Creature God has called you to has to be unleashed, he is in there. God wants to live through you, there is life in you from God.
The new you are a powerful creature, waiting to be released. Imagine having the power to do the impossible, but always sitting on the sidelines, never used.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
You have this Power because of the indwelling of the Spirit in your life.
What does this power look like?
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
This is what happens when you release the new creature! We have this power in us. I wonder what will happen when you release what’s in you?
What is in you? You don’t know until it’s released. What is the level of power in you?
I believe at no matter what level you are in Christ there is miracle working. Power to be released. If you never release it, you will never know!
Many signs and wonders preceded the Preaching of the Gospel.
15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
Release the anointing and there will be Miracles because this new creature is a powerful creature, it’s Jesus in you.
In Acts 8, Philip preached Christ when he released the anointing.
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.
I know you have been born again. I’m not questioning this, but have you released this power that’s in you?
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
In Luke’s Gospel chapter 8, Jesus was on his way to Jarius’s house to raise his daughter, there was a woman in the crowd who had a issue of blood for 12 years. The word said she spent all she had, doctor after doctor. She said in her heart: If I could only touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, I know I will be healed. So, she pressed through the crowd and touched the hem of his garment. When she did, the virtue flowed from Jesus, and she was immediately healed.
It doesn’t matter, if you touch Jesus or Jesus touches you, the healing power is waiting to be released.
