My Time with Jesus

Matthew 14:13-21

Feeding the Five Thousand

13 When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. 14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. 15 When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.”

16 But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

17 And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”

18 He said, “Bring them here to Me.” 19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. 20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. 21 Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

I want to tell you about a dream I had. I named the dream :

1. Jesus made water into Milk

In the dream I was listening to Jesus as if I was one of the 5000. There were many people there. Jesus was turning water into milk. In the dream, I knew he had turned water into wine, but he was turning water into milk for the kids. Jesus was meeting a need in their lives.

Setting: “As One of the 5,000”

This matters greatly.

The feeding of the 5,000 is not just a miracle of provision, it is a pastoral miracle. Jesus saw the crowd and said they were “like sheep without a shepherd” (Mark 6:34). He didn’t just feed them; He taught them first, then met their physical needs.

Being among the 5,000 was not being on the platform, it reveals:

  • Identification with the people, not separation from them
  • A shepherd’s heart that stands with the hungry, not above them
  • A calling rooted in compassion before manifestation

This aligns perfectly with BASH’s DNA.

2. Water Into Milk — A Distinct and Holy Sign

This is the core of the dream.

Wine is for celebrations.

Milk is for life and growth.

Scripture gives us the interpretive key:

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.”

1 Peter 2:2

Jesus turning water into milk reveals:

  • A ministry focused on nourishing the immature, wounded, and developing
  • A grace for those who cannot yet digest strong meat
  • This is not lesser—it is foundational.
  • Milk sustains orphans, infants, and the vulnerable.

3. “For the Kidds” — This Is Not Accidental Language

I didn’t say “children.”
I said “kidds.”

That is covenant language .

In the Spirit, this includes:

  • Natural children
  • Spiritual children
  • The overlooked
  • The emotionally underdeveloped
  • The traumatized
  • The ones who never received milk when they should have

Paul said:

“I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it.” — 1 Corinthians 3:2

Jesus is showing me that He personally meets the needs of my kidds, and He allows you to watch, learn, and partner.

4. Why Not Wine?

This is very important.

Wine in Scripture often comes after milk:

  • After growth
  • After stability
  • After nurture

Jesus is saying:

“This season is not about intoxication—it’s about sustenance.”

He is not withholding glory, He is protecting the young.

5. The Prophetic Word to You

We are entrusted with spiritual infants and wounded souls, a feeding ministry, a fathering anointing.

Jesus Himself is supplying what you cannot produce.

Heaven recognizes your heart for “kidds”.

This dream is God saying:

“You see their need, Watch Me feed them.”

“Can a woman forget her nursing child…? Surely, they may forget, yet I will not forget you.” — Isaiah 49:15

Milk is the language of care that does not abandon.

To understand the need of Matthew 14:13-18, you gain a new perspective as  to be one in the crowd, not a disciple looking at the sheep, but as one in the crowd. I identify with the multitude. “Some people live too high for the multitude”

The greatest thing I ever did was get out of my vehicle and walk the streets of Steele Mo. I had to learn to identify what God is calling me to. How can BASH Family Worship Center ever identify with what He has called us to if we don’t become one in the crowd?

I identify with the throw aways. I too was thrown away.

I’m a divorced Pastor, I’m not saying get a divorce, I am empathetic to the divorced, the throw aways. I was fatherless until I became a father. As a father it is my heart to be with my Kidds, to see their needs met. No starving sheep on my watch.

John 21:15-17

Jesus Restores Peter

 15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”`

He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”

16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”

He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”

17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”

And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.”

Jesus was on a mission in John 21. He was looking for a feeder of the sheep, Jesus didn’t say grow it and then feed them, he said feed them, I will supply their needs,  you just feed them.

In my dream Jesus was turning water into Milk, a substance for growth. How am I, your Pastor, going to help you to mature in Christ? We are going to feed you the pure word of God. You may be in the Milk stage, but God is the one supplying what you need.

A word to the hurting, Jesus knows your pain,

Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV)

61 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,

The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Psalm 100:1-3

1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;

Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;

It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
