The Cross and Our Relationship with God
The further you get from the cross or your relationship with God, the harder it becomes.
The Importance of Faith
In the past years of mine and AB’s friendship, I could never understand why she just couldn’t go back to church, and it was always hard for her. In reality, I didn’t know how far away she was from God.
The Significance of Spiritual Armor
There are times when we want to give up, but God didn’t give us the spiritual armor in Ephesians chapter 6 if He didn’t want us to use it.
The Blessings of Faith
The Cross: never forget what Jesus did for us and the real reason why we are here today and why we keep pushing forward and not giving up.
Psalm 103:1-5 King James Version
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Glorifying God and His Word
Always remember to glorify God and who He really is.
Psalm 119:105 King James Version
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
The Power of God’s Word
Quit living and walking in the unknown of what will happen and how it will happen, and read your Bible and allow God to perform His word.
There is no darkness or questions regarding life when the word of God is put to it or applied to it.
When you feel your world falling apart, just know it is only falling into place when the word of God is applied to your life.
Romans 13:11-12 King James Version
And that, knowing the time, now is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us, therefore, cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
The Armor of Light
God tells us another piece of the Armor that He wants us to apply, and that is the armor of light. What is the armor of Light? The word of God!
We can’t win a battle in the dark.
We have to know the enemy is headed our way.
We can only know the enemy is coming if God puts light in the darkness.
We need the word of God for the light, for strength, and wisdom.
It’s time to apply the armor of Light to our life and quit wandering in the darkness.
Ephesians 6:11
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
We can’t do anything without the word of God!
The Importance of a Strong Light
Have you ever tried to walk outside with the flashlight just on your phone? Or with a flashlight with batteries that are out of date and have been run down and almost out of any good cells at all? It is very hard to see. In fact, you might have wished to grab the good flashlight before going into the dark.
Especially at the Beach, your phone flashlight does not do any good for any crab hunting.
Another example, my car lights before Pastor put me on some bright lights so I can at night or the early mornings going to work. Even Owen said, “MiMi, how can you see?” I said I can’t; I’m only praying and hoping and guessing.
Finding Light in Darkness
That is how most Christians are running around today, praying, hoping, and guessing. They are running on dim lights because they are not reading the word of God and truly can’t see. They are trying to win souls without the light.
We need to energize and read deep into the word to allow our light to shine brightly again.
How can you hunt for lost souls with a dim light?
The further away you get, the harder it is to see. The further you are in darkness, the harder it will be physically and spiritually because it will paralyze you, scared to make the next move not knowing what is in the darkness.
The Importance of Staying Close to the Light
When I was young, I was always scared of the dark. Now that I’m old, I’m still scared of the dark (but it is a different type of darkness). I’m scared of the word of God not being planted in my life, and I never want to live in that type of darkness. I want the word of God put into my life so I can be in the light forever and spend it with Jesus forever!
John 8:12 King James Version
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
The Importance of Staying Close to Jesus
Matthew 14:22-25 King James Version
And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
Seeking the Light in Times of Trouble
His disciples being out away from Jesus and the ship was in the midst of the sea, tossed with the waves.
How many in here feel that we are all alone left in the middle of our mess and the waves of life bigger than what we feel we can handle?
There are a few events here that happened in this chapter with Jesus walking on water and back to his disciples, but the one thing I want to bring out. All is better (the situations) were better once close to the light, Jesus.
Don’t wait until you are in complete darkness, the point of no return (I’m speaking of Hell), to try to find the light then because then it will be too late.
It’s time to get in now because “The further you get, the harder it gets.”
