1 Kings 18:30-39 Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me.” So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.

31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying, “Israel shall be your name.

32 Then with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord; and he made a trench around the altar large enough to hold two seahs of seed.

33 And he put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, “Fill four waterpots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood.”

34 Then he said, “Do it a second time,” and they did it a second time; and he said, “Do it a third time,” and they did it a third time.

35 So the water ran all around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water.

36 And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word.

37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”

38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.

39 Now when all the people saw it,they fell on their faces; and they said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!”

The Miracle at the Summit

The Bible says much about mountain experiences. Places where man and God met, and the events that happened, was life changing to say the least.

I feel like someone in this house is about to have a summit Miracle.

Mount Sinai

Mount Sinai is arguably one of the most important mountains in the Bible.

Mount Sinai–also known as Mount Horeb–was where God gave Moses the Ten Commandments. It is also where God led His people after freeing them from Egypt.

Mount Sinai, on the eastern side, is named after sin. The other side is called Horeb, the place of fire.

When you come to Sinai on the eastern side, you deal with sin.

Then on the western side, Moses’s life was transformed at the burning bush.

God wants you to face your Sinai, and to scale this mountain, the mountain of sin.

Moses knew this all to well.  A shepherd knows the place he carries his sheep.

Today I bring you to the eastern side of the mountain where you will come into covenant with God.

It’s the place God writes His name and law in your heart.

God is bringing you out of Egypt, and the bondage of the world.

I see another aspect of his Glory here.

You came to the east side, but this summit is not your destiny.

You’re gonna have to explore the Western Side of the mountain.  When I was about 20 years old, I climbed Mt Horeb.

Sinai/Horeb has two peaks. I had been saved. I faced my Sinai now.

I was on the backside of the mountain. I was on the Horeb side; God’s name is written on my heart.

Then I saw the burning bush like Moses. It changed my life.

I’m not the same man that went up that mountain.

Today God wants to change you, your destiny is on this mountain.

Mount Moriah

Mount Moriah is famously known as the mountain where Abraham was to sacrifice his son Isaac.

It is also where Solomon built God’s temple. This mountain has a miraculous top summit.

It’s the place where Abraham gives God what’s most precious to him.

God didn’t want Isaac, he wanted Abraham.

On Mount Moriah, we tell God, “I want more”.  Sing it to Jesus. “I want more, I want more”

Abraham got more. When Abraham raised the knife to take the life of his Isaac, the Angel spoke from heaven Abraham.  “Do not touch the lad. I know you love me more than what I have given you.”

I ask you. Do you love God more than what he has given you?

When you love him, then your heart’s cry will be,  stay with me, live in me!

You’re more than a friend, you’re the love of My life. You are my heartbeat.  You get more of God when He gets more of you.

The summit you are looking for.  I want more. Why do I want more?  Because I get more of Him.

What a name for a mountain.

Mt. I Want More

One More Mountain please

Mount Carmel

Mount Carmel is where Elijah famously challenged the prophets of Baal and proved that the Lord is our ultimate God.

Mount Carmel is a coastal mountain range in northern Israel close to the Mediterranean sea. The humidity of the sea makes this Mountain beautiful place.

Think about what I’m saying.

This mountain receives constant rain.  It’s the place where you will have your greatest breakthroughs.  The mountain the giants fall in. The place God raises up another Elijah.

A place where the fire never goes out. Why? Because there is an overwhelming supply of burnable fuel.

This mountain is the place where, if it is not God, it will face its demise.

Which comes first? The wood or the fire?

When you cut down that which hides his glory, the fire will come.

God wants to send the fire to you.

You cannot defeat the enemy without the fire.

Be that man or woman who prays and the fire falls!

Elijah prayed and the fire fell.

This generation needs Elijahs who brings the fire.
