The place I meet God: “Holy Ground”

Jacob’s Vow at Bethel

Genesis 28:10-23

10 Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran.

11 So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.

12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

13 And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: “I am the Lord God of Abraham, your father, and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.

14 Also, your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed, all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”

16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.”

17 And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!”

18 Then Jacob rose early in the morning and took the stone that he had put at his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it.

19 And he called the name of that place Bethel; but the name of that city had been Luz previously.

20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,

21 so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God.

22 And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me, I will surely give a tenth to You.”

The life of Jake is a complicated one for sure. If you can’t read your life into the life of Jacob, you haven’t read Genesis.

Jake has the highs and lows for sure, as we all do. If you’re looking for fairness, Jake missed it; if you’re looking for trouble, Jake is your man.

Jacob was the one Kid who was like an alley, loud, loved, and hated. I believe Jake was the one Kid you could not stand not to love. God’s hand on Jacob, and it wasn’t going away.

There are those in this room who are just like Jacob. Some love you, others hate you, but you know God’s hand is upon you.

Jacob found something at Bethel; he found God, or God found him is the better way to say it.

Like Jacob, God and You are on a collision course. The place you meet God will become your Holy Ground. Do you have a place that’s Holy Ground to you?

Jacob made a promise to God based upon a dream. God stirred the faith of Jacob with a dream, and that Holy Ground caused Jacob to make a vow to God.

I’m here today to tell you the dream God put in your heart, don’t give up on it. It happened on Holy Ground.

I ask you, where is your Holy Ground? Here is mine. Sister Jody is showing you pictures of mine. It’s my Holy Ground. In 2020 when I almost died, “God brought me back to life,” I recovered here. I’m here to tell you on the Holy Ground, God will touch you.

Many people have sat in that seat, put their feet on that mat on which I lay. I have filled bottles in heaven with tears that only God can count.

When you give me a prayer request, most likely, it’s here on this ground I cry to Jesus.

In the prayer room and the chair, I have cried many a tear over the years. This pulpit is another place I meet with God; it’s an Altar.

This Altar area is Holy Ground; it’s where I meet God. Be careful not to say a word of criticism about this House; it’s a Holy place.

The broken come here, and He puts them back together. The Lost find Him on this Holy Ground.

Marriages have been made on the Holy Ground; don’t go to the justice of the peace, come to the Holy Ground.

Babies have been dedicated to God here on the Holy Ground; we have brought God our most treasured here; we have brought our deceased to the Holy Ground.

We have brought the ones sick with Cancer to the Holy Ground; this place is Holy Ground. I don’t believe you keep coming here to hear me, but you keep coming here because it’s Holy Ground.

The last two weeks Bash has been off the hook; on the Holy Ground, God has met us. Kids, Teens, and Adults have been experiencing God on Holy Ground.

We have had salvations, baptisms in the Holy Ghost, more healings than we can count. God has been calling Pastors, Teachers, worship Pastors, Musicians.

Thousands of tears have fallen on these altars, thousands upon thousands on this Holy Ground. You know why the devil hates this House because people meet God here. Today there is a miracle God has designed just for you on this Holy Ground.
