Don’t Miss Your Last Chance to be Saved

2 Corinthians 6 (NKJV)

Marks of the Ministry

1We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says:

“In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”

Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Paul is echoing Isaiah 49:8-9. Paul called the hour we are in a season, and accepted time.

In John 6:44, Jesus tells us: “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

If the Holy Spirit doesn’t draw you there is no chance to be saved.

Luke 16: 19-31

The Rich Man and Lazarus

19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and [h]fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with [i]the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’

27 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.

Lazarus despite his gross situation, the bible only says he was a beggar, how would you feel being a beggar? Lazarus was a beggar, yet he took time to set his life in order. He lived by faith and trusted God for the protection of his soul.

I feel the Holy Spirit dealing with hearts, he sees the condition of your soul right now, I ask you if you died right now would you make heaven your home, the great question is “Are you saved?”

Our text says today is the day of salvation. Today is the season to be saved. The season of grace.

Proverbs 6:16-19 (NKJV)

16 These six things the Lord hates,

Yes, seven are an abomination to [a]Him:

17 A[b] proud look,

A lying tongue,

Hands that shed innocent blood,

18 A heart that devises wicked plans,

Feet that are swift in running to evil,

19 A false witness who speaks lies,

And one who sows discord among brethren.

Without the heart, the tongue is a liar. He is a carnal worshipper that gives God but a piece of His heart, as well as he that denies Him the whole of it.

The rich man of Luke 16 was guilty of neglect. He neglected the day of salvation, his greatest sin was rejecting Jesus. His day came and went, the day of salvation came and went. He never thought his day would be like this. But what is scary is the day of salvation is skipped by the masses.

Are you among the deceived? Has the devil blinded you of your need for Jesus? The rich man who had it all died and went to hell. The word says:

Luke 16:22-24 (NKJV)

22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’”

Those who serve Jesus by their lips and not with their heart are liars and they will have their place in the hell reserved.

Some play games and week to week deny Jesus their whole heart. Offering only a piece of their hearts.

Then there are those who never consider their ways, they hate, they lie, they have no heart or conscience.

I have had dreams this past week about this condition of the soul, who am I talking to?

Today is the day of salvation, even the beggar had enough sense to get right.

I saw the words stone cold dead, last night in my dream I saw the words “You missed your last chance!”

Hey pretender, your last chance to be saved could be today. Your heart has turned cold to God, cold to your fellow man, you don’t really care about anyone but you.

The pretender cares for just Me, I am the one who needs no one, I will satisfy myself. Don’t leave this house unsaved, you would rather beg Jesus to save you while you’re alive than beg him after you’re dead.

Luke 16:25 (NKJV)

But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.’

The devil is a liar! He will tell you not today, you have plenty of time. But are you forgetting who you’re listening to, the devil is a liar.

Jesus is calling you. Will you heed the call?

How long has it been since your heart was really in it? Have your lips been telling lies?

Isaiah 29:13 (NKJV)

13 Therefore the Lord said:

“Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths
And honor Me with their lips,
But have removed their hearts far from Me,
And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

God gives us grace. Right now is the appointed time.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV)

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
