Ten Facts about the Anti-Christ

 

Read 2 Thessalonians 2

 

Anti can mean “against” or “instead of”.

 

This global political leader will both oppose Christ and put himself in the place of Christ.

 

He will persecute, torture and kill the people of God. He will be the most powerful dictator the world has ever seen.

 

 

Making Hitler and all the others look tame by comparison.

 

 

1 the Antichrist cannot be revealed until after the rapture of the church.

 

 

2 Thessalonians 2:6-8

6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the [d]mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only [e]He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 

 

 

The restraining power holding back the Antichrist is the Holy Spirit working in and through the church.

 

 

2 The Anti-Christ will be a Gentile.

 

He will arise from a revived Roman Empire.

 

There is a reference to him arising out of the sea which is a reference to the Gentile nations in prophetic literature.

 

Revelation 13:1 (NKJV)

Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name.

 

 

3 there are many antichrists plural, but only one Antichrist singular.

 

 

1 John 2:18 (NKJV)

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

 

Matthew 24:36 (NKJV)

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

 

Only God has control of Bible Prophecy.

Satan does not know so he has always had to have an Antichrist groomed and waiting in the wings.

 

 

4 The day that the Antichrist signs, the peace treaty with Israel, the tribulation begins.

 

 

Daniel 9:27 (NKJV)

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week, He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate.”

 

The Tribulation can be found in Revelation 6-18.

 

 

5 He will be assassinated and then come back to life.

 

 

Revelation 13:3-4 (NKJV)

3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who [is] like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

 

Was he mortally wounded? No. He is the great deceiver. There is only one giver of life.

 

2 Thessalonians 2:9 (NKJV)

The coming of the [lawless one] is according to the working of satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders

 

2 Thessalonians 2:10 (NKJV)

and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

 

 

6 He will either be homosexual or androgynous.

 

Daniel 11:37 (NKJV)

“He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above [them] all.

 

 

7 He will desecrate the third Temple in Jerusalem by erecting a statue of himself in it.

 

 

Revelation 13:14-15 (NKJV)

14And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15He was granted [power] to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

 

 

8 He will claim to be God.

 

 

2 Thessalonians 2:4 (NKJV)

who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

 

 

9 He will mandate and enforce a global cashless society.

 

 

Revelation 13:16-17 (NKJV)

16He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

 

 

10 He will be cast alive into a lake of fire. 🔥

 

 

He will not reign, he will not conquer, will not prevail

 

 

Revelation 19:20-21 (NKJV)

20Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
