Follow the Fire

Exodus 3:1-5 NKJV

Moses at the Burning Bush

3 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”

So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”

And he said, “Here I am.”

Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”

The fire sure caught the attention of Moses, it’s not a man-made fire that’s full of deception, but of the word of the Lord.

A true Prophet waits before the Lord and speaks His Word not his own words; when a true Prophet speaks he or she they are speaking a word heard before the Lord. “The word of the Lord.”

“They speak what’s about to happen” and if that’s not your calling, sit down and do no harm to the body of Christ.

There was a word that has come from bush. God began to talk to Moses, thus he found his life’s calling. The fire brought out his true self; his true calling.

If you get too close to the fire, it will tell on you; it will reveal who you are, who you belong to, and what you are.

 Matthew 3:1-6

John the Baptist Prepares the Way

3 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying:

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make His paths straight.’ ”

Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

John was baptized in the Holy Ghost in his mother’s womb (Luke 1:15).

The fire will bring you to Jesus, its’ not the other way around. The fire in John didn’t bring Jesus to him. That fire in him brought John to Jesus.

In His early years, Jesus lived in Nazareth, which is in the region of Galilee. Judea is the southern region of Israel where Jerusalem and Bethlehem are located. The distance from Nazareth to Judea (Jerusalem area) is roughly 65–75 miles depending on the route taken.

In the days of Jesus, people traveled mostly by foot, and that journey would usually take three to four days of walking.

Why was John attracted to this region? As a Prophet he may not have even understood himself, but the Jordan crossing from the desert to the Promised land was in the same vicinity.

Prophetically he could have been reminding them that this is where we crossed Jordan into the Promised land, and now I stand in the same river asking you to cross this Jordan by faith for the one to come who’s shoes I’m not worthy to loosen.  He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.

Tonight, I’m asking you to see Moses looking for the burning Bush, I’m asking you to look at John the Baptist. He’s looking for the baptizer of fire.

Don’t you want to be free from the addictions of the flesh?

Don’t you want to be saved?

Deliverance from that desert. Look how much death is in that desert. You’re not supposed to live there, you were supposed to go through it to Jesus.

The Power of God moves through the word

You can believe the word of God

You can trust the word of God

While your faith is feasting on the word tonight for heaven’s sake act on it.

Let God fill you with His Holy Spirit !!
