10 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.
3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
Cornelius was a devoted man, “ I believe he was the first Gentile to be saved”. He was a man of influence; he was hungry for God. He was the one most likely not to receive.
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
“Good days, bad days, sad days” he was like the Palm tree I’m getting back up. Somebody is following me.
“One the great privileges of Prayer”, we can approach the only true God, Ceo of heaven and the earth. The wind could not even blow without His permission. There would be no rain, no sun, no moon. He’s all powerful, all knowing, He’s everywhere at the same time.
His ways are past finding out. He knows our voice “momma” when we say Abba he knows, when I say it, I know I have direct access to him.
We don’t have to go to anyone to talk to him, we have access to our father, our hearts can empty out to him.
Heart attacks happen because of stress, Prayer is where we pour out, prayer is where the turning of the soul takes place. It’s the place of total surrender.
Unto thee my Lord, I lift up my soul – all its disappointments, emotions, desires of my heart.
It is our Garden of Gethsemane “not my will but yours, oh Lord”
Live in a state of Prayer in our spirit, it’s not about me. Lord, it’s your will, not my will. I don’t want my will; Prayer is where we bring ourselves to God not my wish List. Seek first the Kingdom of God.
We live in a time where People don’t really know how to pray.
The disciples said “Lord, teach us to Pray.”
Lord, I pray for discernment, that I might know the mind of God, the will of God, I want to know the deepest parts of Godi want to know the Love of God.
My Prayer is: God if there’s any wicked way in me drive it out.
Let the words of my mouth be acceptable in thy sight.
I want to walk with God with a broken and contrite spirit. I need a praying spirit.
Cast me not away from your Presence. In there I have placed my trust.
When we have a House of Prayer inside of us, we can sweep the whole house clean.
Put the blood over our door post; tell the devil he’s a liar. Your house is whatever you built it to be… love, peace, joy. Speak to the atmosphere voice activated. And God said when I’m in the house, strife must cease.
I bring Holiness, Righteousness, Joy unspeakable.
Praying always in the Holy Ghost enlarges my territory.
Angels with Spiritual hammers and nails building back.
What’s your prayer life like? Prayer opens the windows of heaven; Prayer opens the treasures of God to us.
Hannah prayed for a son, received a Prophet, Elijah prayed for rain. Nehemiah prayed for Favor from the King to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Cornelus was the man who knew how to pray, the one Gentile convert. He was an officer who had men under him. He was the first Gentile to see an angel. He had faith. He’s in the pages of the Book of Acts.
Faith stands on the promises of God. Thou slay me yet will I serve Thee. Yet will I trust Him Job said.
Consecration will root you in God; it will anchor you.
He was also a man that gave many alms. He was a man of Generosity; He had a spirit to give.
Get rid of that stingy spirit. Ask God to give you a spirit of giving. Don’t be stingy with the Gospel.
Money is a currency; it has to move.
