1 Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom.
When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground.
2 And he said, “Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night,
and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.”
3 But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house.
Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4 Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom,
both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house.
5 And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came
to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”
6 So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him,
7 and said, “Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly!
8 See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring
them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men,
since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof.”
9 And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to [a]stay here,
and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.”
So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.
10 But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them,
and shut the door.
11 And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness,
both small and great so that they became weary trying to find the door.
It almost seems like we never pay for the sin we commit. It seems like some people are
untouchable, the law can’t get to them, they go under the radar, and no one sees their
sin. But I tell you, God has sent me here to tell you there is a day when you run out of time.
Sodom & Gomorrah cities were full of sin and seemingly they had no end to the depravity.
The men wanted to rape the Angels of God. These two Angels came from God to judge the
sin of these cities.
Lot, Abraham’s nephew, was in Sodom so was his wife and two daughters. Lot persuaded
these men to stay the night in his house; Lot knew the sin that went on.
The sun had gone down. It’s estimated that some 750,000 people lived in these two cities.
Did the cities repent because two angels came to judge their sins? No, they didn’t. Lot and
his wife and two daughters were commanded to leave under a direct order from God.
24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the
Lord out of the heavens.
Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord
out of the heavens. 750,000 people ran out of time. If they had only repented of their sins.
In the book of Jonah, God sent his prophet to warn the people 40 days and I’m going to
destroy the city of Nineveh.
The Assyrians were some of the toughest people on the earth, ruthless warriors, killing
machines, and murder was what flowed in their blood. They hated Jews, they hated God’s people.
They hated God. Jonah was commanded to go prophecy to these folks, but Jonah ran from the
presence of God. He boarded a ship heading to Tarshish.
A storm came upon the ship and every man was going to die on that ship; who had sinned so
greatly that God was going to take the life of every man?
There was a man asleep at the bottom of the ship, Jonah. They awoke him, “What have you done?”
they asked him, “Are you a murderer? What is your sin?” He said, “I’m a prophet and I’m running
from God. I can hear them now, ‘Are you a nut? We are all going to die because of your sin.”
Jonah said, “Guys, just throw me overboard,” and they did. As soon as they threw him over, the
storm ceased. Here the preacher, Jonah, would rather die than preach to the Ninevites.
He couldn’t kill himself, so he had someone else do it. But unbeknown to Jonah, God had a great fish.
Three days and three nights in the belly of this fish, Jonah got his act right; finally, the man was ready
to preach the Gospel, and finally, he was ready to prophesy to the Ninevites: 40 days and God was going
to destroy this place, repent was his message.
There was a great sign that preceded Jonah the Prophet. It is called the sign of Jonah by Jesus. Jesus told
us of it. The people asked Jesus to give them a sign of the end and he said there would be no sign except
of Jonah the prophet.
But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign,
and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
What was the sign? There was an eclipse. This sign was God telling these people his man was giving them
a warning from the Almighty. The People believed and repented and God spared them.
On August 21st, 2017, there occurred what is called the great American Solar Eclipse that was visible to the
entire nation from the West Coast to the East Coast of the United States.
April the 8th, 2024, another solar eclipse once again crossing the United States making a huge X on America,
in Hebrew, this is what is called Tav, it’s a mark.
Hear the preacher today: if we don’t repent of our sins, there is a mark upon us, and I believe God is giving us
a sign so big we can’t miss it. Hear the rest of the story. The death angel came to Egypt May 4, 1451 B.C. 1451 years before Jesus was to be born, it was the first Passover and unfortunately, it was for many people the last.
The commandment was to kill the lamb and take its blood and put it over the door and on the sides; stay in the
house at midnight the death angel came and if the blood was not found, the firstborn would die.
When the death angel came, those found with blood on the door were saved from death, and those who
didn’t have it died.
At sunset April 22, Passover begins, could it be this is the last message you hear before the death angel
comes again? Could it be that judgment is upon us? Hear me: can you deny the sign? The dates I have
given you are exact.
“And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord God, “That I will make the sun go
down at noon, And I will darken the earth in broad daylight;
On Friday, April 3rd, AD 33,at approximately 3 PM before Passover began Jesus your Passover
lamb died from 12 to 3 pm the sun refused to the darkness “wasn’t just creation feeling sorry for the
Creator; it wasn’t just a warning; it was a sign of God’s judgment.”
The judgment was upon Jesus. Jesus is your Passover lamb. He’s the only one who can save you.
I warn you there is a day in which you will run out of time. Come to Jesus, ask for forgiveness,
turn from sin. Accept him as your savior, believe in Jesus, and live for him.
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;
and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
I ask you from a point of intercession what about these folks trapped in a life of sin, how many times are you
going to cruise through these neighborhoods and do nothing? What about those trapped in Sodom and Gomorrah?
What about those who are trapped In Nineveh?
Please assign a face to these people, don’t hang a blank picture here or just a cover picture. We must realize
some real families suffering, they have no one, do they have us? If we are not people of prayer, they can’t count on us.
The blood of Jesus matters more to God than you and I, I never want to forget whose blood was spilled for my
sins, this is God’s son. Why God’s son? Because God is Eternal he can’t die, so he sent Jesus in the form of a
man, and on the Cross Jesus died for us.
