Isaiah 9: 6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
We look at our situation and we wonder, “God, when are you gonna do what you said you would do?
March 13, 4 B.C. Josephus wrote in Antiquities 17.6.4 that there was a lunar eclipse shortly before Herod died.
Did Herod have to die?
Seeing we don’t know when God’s plan is coming, the timing of God will mess with you.
If you’re a believer, you know it’s going to happen. Waiting in the hall of faith doesn’t make you lose faith, but rather strengthens your faith.
God has made us some awesome promises and I believe he will perform every one of them.
Nothing can stop God, and no one can stop God. It’s a mistake that can have eternal consequences.
The Massacre of the Innocents was the result of King Herod’s extreme paranoia and cruelty. Herod would do anything to protect his interests, including murdering all the little boys in Bethlehem.
The wise men had alerted Herod to the arrival of a new king in Bethlehem. In his fear and morbid suspicion, Herod could not allow a rival king to live.
Not knowing how old Jesus was, but certain the wise men had said they’d first seen the star less than two years before their visit, Herod took no chances and had all male children under two in Bethlehem killed.
The wise men saw his star, but Herod couldn’t. Herod would not stop trying to find Christ.
Herod was a man who took destiny by the tail and lost.
Remember God is the giver of life, and He has the right to take it back when he’s ready, without notice.
Jesus would not die by a sword, but on a cross. Not man’s way, but God’s way.
Man was eternally lost without Jesus. We could never be saved.
Herod wouldn’t have competition. Herod was king, but the King of Kings would be born in the city of David.
He came wrapped in the envelope of Mary’s belly.
The King of Glory came through the gates of Bethlehem.
There were no rooms in the inn, and no room for Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
The King of Kings was born in a small cave.
Herod wanted to Kill Jesus.
Two thousand male children died because of Herod’s Murder of the Innocents, but Jesus was born anyway.
Hell was unleashing its assault against Jesus.
The defenseless would suffer for their King, for Hell came after Mary’s son.
Joseph’s life was cut short.
The foster father of Jesus.
It is believed Joseph died in the arms of Jesus and Mary.
When you finish the race, let it be said, you finished well.
It’s believed Joseph died before Jesus’s 30thbirthday.
So if your foster Parents were taken before their time, Jesus knows the feeling.
Looks like Jesus is losing.
At the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed till his sweat became great drops of blood.
Betrayed by Judas, one of his own disciples, and then the rest of his disciples forsook him. Remember Peter? I will die before I forsake you, Jesus.
They took my Jesus to the whipping post, and with his stripes, I’m healed.
Isaiaha 53: 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
When Jesus was crucified, The father was in heaven and The son was on earth.
Jesus would not fail.
The lamb of God, our savior, wouldn’t have heaven without us.
Buried in the tomb with the stone sealing the door, on the third day he arose from the grave.
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
God made a way for you and me to be saved.
