Almost Saved, something is missing!

Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler

Like 18: 18 Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

19 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

20 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother,

21 And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.”

22 So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

23 But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

A man rushes up to Jesus and kneeling before him, wanted to know what things he should do to obtain eternal life.

From Matthew’s account we learn that he is a young man (Matthew 19:20). From Luke’s account we learn that he is a ruler (Luke 18:18), probably referring to holding a position in the synagogue, which normally is reserved for elderly Jews.

His wealth, mentioned in all three accounts, probably accounts for his position. Possibly attempting to be polite, the young man calls Jesus “Good Teacher.”

Jesus doesn’t object to the use of the word “good” because he wasn’t good, but he points out that only God is truly good; therefore, by referring to him as “good” the young man was unknowingly calling Jesus God.

Jesus focuses on the commands that deal with a man’s relationship with his fellow man.

By this list Jesus is hinting that the area he needed to work most upon lies in this realm of commands.

However, this was not specific enough for the young man. He knew that he kept these commands, Mark mentions that Jesus answered him out of love (Mark 10:21).

There was one thing lacking in his life which would make him complete. If he could go and sell all he had, give to the poor, then he would be assured of eternal life.

Jesus then even invites him to join his disciple’s.

If this man would have known he was talking to God do you think he would have listened.

He called Jesus God and Jesus said there is none good but God. In era he spoke of who he was but didn’t know he was the son of God.

He was religious but still went to hell, he was a good man but was not a true believer, what he done he done to be liked, his pride blinded him of his real need.

Jesus said one thing you lack, go sell what you have and give to the poor you will have treasure in heaven.

The bible says he went away sad because he was a rich man.

There is nothing wrong with Money or having a lot of it. But this man’s money had him.

It meant more than God, it was what made him stick out in the crowd, it’s what got him to be in his position in the temple.

We never hear of this man repenting of his sin, he denied Jesus, he rejected salvation, if he had truly repented He could have been one of Jesus’s disciples.

Tell me what is the one thing that stands between you and Jesus

You’re a good person, people think good of you.

But if you died right now you would go to Hell. You have rejected Jesus.

Being rich wasn’t the problem. Having friends who like you isn’t a sin.

Being a leader in the community isn’t a sin.

So what was so bad that this man was willing to go to hell for?

He went to hell because he rejected Jesus.

Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
But the Lord weighs the hearts.

3 To do righteousness and justice
Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?

10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the] mind, Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.

Its sad to see people who are on their way to hell, who have no clue what is coming their way.

 They reject Jesus.

You can’t tell them nothing. They have never been convicted of anything.

One day everyone will stand before the Judge, at the resurrection of the dead.

Revelation 20:11-15  The Great White Throne Judgment

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.

14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

The only sin I know of that will send you to hell is to reject Jesus.

What will you do tonight, will you walk away sad or will you repent of your sins.

I had a dream

In this dream I was taken into the atmosphere and as I got close to the second heaven there were tunnels that went to the earth that went down to hell.

There were thousands of these tunnels.  As I got close to one I began to beg Jesus not to let me go into it.

I was fully aware of Jesus’ presence

I knew I was saved, but Jesus let me see this for your sake.

He knew I would tell you. I went into this tunnel about 10 ft.

Demons were impregnated into the walls.

I screamed like a girl. I begged Jesus not to leave me in here.

My heart is beating so fast right now. I can remember this so plainly and  it scares me even now.

Don’t reject Jesus, repent of your sins.

Mathew 7 :21-23 I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

The sin you practice tells me who owns your heart.

You’re lost and need Jesus.

Those who reject God’s word have rejected God.

Don’t tell me you love God, when you don’t know him.  You never knew him.

God has called you but you have rejected him.

He has given you talents but you will not use them for him.

When at church you look like a Christian but when you leave here Jesus stays here.

You look like the world. You’re proud of your sin’s acceptability.

Others praise you for your gay status, but one thing thou lackest. You’re proud of your position in life, but when your life is over where will you spend eternity.

In 2020 when I almost died, I went in the hospital. It was like I died and 10 days later I woke up. I didn’t even know it had happened till it was too late.

If I had died I would have gone to be with Jesus. But there are people under the sound of my voice who would not have that pleasure.

You have been deceived.

The devil has lied to you.

Don’t reject Jesus. Give Jesus your heart
