Here Am I
Genesis 22:1-2 KJV
And it came to pass after these things that God did tempt Abraham and said unto him, Abraham, and he said, Behold, here I am.
2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
Genesis 22:7-14
7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham, his father, and said, My father, and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering, so they went both of them together.
9 And they came to the place that God had told him of, and Abraham built an altar there, laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac, his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
11 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham, and he said, Here am I.
12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, nor do thou any thing unto him; for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son, from me.
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh; as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.
Jehovahjireh, meaning the Lord will provide
Here I am.
In the Bible, it reads “Here Am I” six times.
Genesis 22:1
Abraham responded to God, “Here am I.”
Genesis 31:11
11 And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.
Exodus 3:4
4 And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
1 Samuel 3:4
4 That the Lord called Samuel, and he answered, Here am I.
Isaiah 6:8
8 Also, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I; send me.
Acts 9:10
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias, and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
Are you saying, “Here Am I,” to God?
Saul was out for the Christians, but God “Opened his eyes by closing his eyes.”
Saul set out to the outskirts of Damascus, and he was blinded by a flash of light. He heard a voice: “Saul, Saul, why are you out to get me?” Saul responded Who art thou, Lord? The master responded, I am Jesus.
Jesus then uses Ananias for the process of healing Saul (Jesus didn’t leave Saul that way or leave him blind). (Jesus then uses him in a big way for the gospel when the scales fall.)
*Although Ananias was iffy about going because of the situation (He still said, Here Am I), We might not want to go when the fire is turned up and puts us in extreme or dangerous circumstances. We have to go forward because God will protect us.
Although Saul was out to get the Christians, he was still a chosen vessel for God. (No matter our place in life, we can change it around because God has chosen us and you.)
Dying out or giving it all
Abraham was willing to give his all.
* You know it had to kill him, knowing in his mind and heart when he made it to the land of Moriah. He had to make his ultimate sacrifice. He loved his son very much with all of his heart, But he loved God more.
He didn’t run from what God told him to do, although it was killing him inside. (Some of us run from God and the alter because it isn’t the answer we want or we don’t want to give up anything; giving our all causes growing pains, and we don’t want to feel that process.)
Could you die to Christ? Amber, could you die to Christ if you had to give your only son? Would you be able to take him to the Alter? Literally and spiritually—sometimes it’s easier to do it spiritually than physically. Only because you have to do it with an action, and we don’t want to move, but we want God to move. God gave his only son, but do we love God enough to give him our all?
Do we love him enough to give him back what he gave us?
Malachi 3:10 amp
10 Bring all the tithes (the tenth) into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such a great blessing until there is no more room to receive it.
When we fully focus on God, we can’t see the what-ifs around us.
We put God in a box as if he couldn’t give us anything past our paycheck. How can we receive more?
God works in every area of our lives, not just spiritually, financially, and physically. He provides in all areas because he is our all, and he paid it all for us.
Are we fully dying out to Christ if we are not paying our tithes?
I’m not preaching on money, but realistically, are we fully dying out in every area? We can’t neglect anything and say we are fully dying to Christ.
We have to die completely to God in all areas of our lives!
Do we love God more than what he has given us in life?
Are we laying our all at the alter?
We can’t die out and give our all if we keep picking up what we were trying to leave behind. (That’s not dying out.)
We can’t pick and choose what we die for (That’s not dying for Christ).
Yes, it may hurt and cause our hearts to ache, but are we dying to Christ?
The number 7 in the Bible means “fullness” or completeness.”
When the Bible gave 6 examples of “Here Am I,” I am asking you, Would you complete or bring to the fullness of God’s plan and be the 7th one to answer the call and say “Here Am I?”
*Here Am I God to my ministry
*Here Am I to everything you want me to be God, I die out to you.
I die to my master or my creator.
I know it’s hard to give up what feels comfortable to us and what we love the most.
Remember, it is not about what we feel or want but what God has ordered for us.
Die out at the altar.
We have to touch Heaven for our family.
On a mission and driven to die out at the alter for Christ
When you die to Christ, you are allowing God to put all of him in you.
It’s time to change the game plan and die at the altar. Pour your heart out to him.
Your whole life can be altered at the Altar! But we have to die out and give him everything, no matter how bad it hurts or makes our hearts ache. Trust Jesus; he only wants the best for you.
