Wake me up!
Luke 8:41-42:
41 And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house.
42 For he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying.
Verse 49: They came to Jairus. “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.”
50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”
51 When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go in except Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl.
52 Now all wept and mourned for her, but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.”
53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
Wake me up!
Before death completely takes a life, there is a place between life and death. No one knows where this place is.
Even if it is a place, it may just be a moment in time until you are completely dead, when you are actually dead.
Proverbs 21:16: A man who wanders from the way of understanding will rest in the assembly of the dead.
Scripture often compares a person’s lifestyle and choices to a “path” or a “way.”
There is considerable overlap between common sense and God’s eternal truths (Proverbs 1:7).
The more one seeks truth, the more closely one follows God’s will.
The consequences threatened in this proverb can be earthly, eternal, or both.
Some choose to live for pleasure, fame, or fortune, but destruction lies at the end of such a life. Jesus said,
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few” (Matthew 7:13–14).
This generation has awakened a demon of destruction like no other.
Why has the devil fought this generation?
Because this is the rapture generation.
He wants to destroy anything that has the image of God in it.
Wake me up!
Skit time.
Wake me up!
Spiritually speaking, there are those who are dead and they just don’t know how close they are to natural death.
When the soul leaves the body, it either goes to be with Jesus or spends eternity separated from God in hell.
What does the prophet hear?
I hear the cry of the dead: “Wake me up,” “Set me free,” “I’m not dead,” “Please don’t close that casket.”
I’m trying to awaken all who I can. No matter what I say, they cannot hear me.
No matter my sacrifice of self-unto the Lord, they cannot hear me.
We sit on the pew as if we are going to live forever. We have forgotten God and live for the pleasure of sin. “Wake me up.”
There are those who have awakened a demon of lust.
There are those who have awakened a demon of greed.
There are those who have awakened a demon of pride.
There are those who have awakened a demon of homosexuality.
There are those who have awakened a demon of meth, cocaine, heroin, alcohol.
Today, I hear the cry: “Wake me up,” “Save me from myself.”
Many are the walking dead, closer to the grave than to Jesus.
“Jesus sent me to this generation” to awaken you from your eternal sleep. “He knew I would tell you what he said
